♔ About me

Hello!
I go by Emi / Emiiichan. I'm a 230-something female living on the island of Oahu currently living in Kanagawa, Japan(!). I graduated from college in 2013 with a BA in Geography. I work full time in an office but enjoy updating this blog in my free time to keep track of my life updates.

This blog started out as a way to remember some aspects of my study abroad in Kobe, Japan during the summer of 2012 but I actually ended up failing at keeping up with that. It has now come to be a place for me to share my experiences and purchases, document my trips and personal life and review a few items from time to time.
The majority of my posts tend to focus on the Japanese brand Liz Lisa now often EATME. As an international customer whose only option is to shop online, I know how hard it is to know what certain items will be like just from the stock photos. Because of this, I started posting about my orders, taking a first hand look at the products I bought and creating a few coordinates to show how the items look on a "real person" and how I would personally style them.
Since I try to comment on fit when applicable for freesize/generally sized items, for reference, I am 5'4" (approx. 162.5cm) and about 110lbs. I usually fit US size XS/S in American clothes. My shoe size is US size 7. I most often fit Japanese shoe size L for Japanese shoes, but I've found that I sometimes better fit M for other brands depending on the type of shoe.
I do my best to give my honest opinion of anything I write about and try to focus on aspects of the topic that I would want to know if I was someone who is looking for more information. As a result, I think sometimes I might give a lot of mundane details but I'm hoping to provide as much as possible so you don't have to think twice or be unsure about anything. Of course, questions that are not directly answered in the post are always welcome, and I do my best to respond to all comments (not spam).

Am I specially qualified to talk about any of the topics on this blog? No, not particularly. I'm just a regular consumer that wants to share what I know to be true based on what I've done or purchased. I want to help others make informed decisions, but I don't actually have an abundance of extraordinary or behind-the-scenes knowledge about most of these things. I write based on my own life experiences (good and not so good), and I do my best to be up front about that.

If you want to know a little bit more about my blog content, consider checking out my "Blog topics overview" page for a quick rundown of the labels ☆

Thank you for visiting my blog ♡
I took a hiatus from blogging in 2018 and returned (part time) starting in early 2019. More information with regards to my hiatus and my gap year in blogging can be found in my "Why I stopped Blogging" post.
It was a joy to share my purchases and experiences with you for the past several years, but due to my personal circumstances, I have decided to continue to step back from social media and blogging. I hope that the existing posts will still be useful in some way, even without new consistent content rolling in. It is still my intention to record my travel (especially to Japan) and select purchases, but unfortunately cannot commit to the schedule and volume of content I was able to produce in previous years.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding.
